Walid Stainless, located in Tunis, Tunisia, has built a solid reputation as a manufacturer and supplier of top-notch welding consumables, including the **AWS Class E309/309L‑16 electrodes**. These electrodes are specifically designed for welding austenitic stainless steels and for connecting stainless to carbon and low-alloy steels, especially when enhanced strength and corrosion resistance are crucial. With a commitment to advanced production techniques and rigorous quality control, Walid Stainless ensures that their products consistently meet international standards. They cater to various industries, including chemical processing, petrochemical, power generation, construction, and marine applications, where strong and reliable welds are a must.
The AWS Class E309/309L‑16 electrodes are made primarily from iron, chromium (22–24%), and nickel (12–14%), making them austenitic stainless steel electrodes. The 309L variant features a lower carbon content, which helps reduce carbide precipitation and enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding. This well-balanced composition results in good tensile strength (typically around 75 ksi / 515 MPa) and excellent ductility, producing fully austenitic weld deposits that are resistant to cracking under thermal stress.
