Walid Stainless, located in Tunis, Tunisia, has built a solid reputation as a reliable manufacturer and supplier of top-notch stainless steel welding consumables. One of their standout products is the AWS Class E347-16 electrodes, specifically crafted for welding stabilized austenitic stainless steels that require exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion and can handle high temperatures. These electrodes are known for their smooth arc characteristics, stable metal transfer, and robust, crack-resistant weld deposits. Walid Stainless employs cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and rigorous quality control to ensure they meet international standards, catering to industries like chemical processing, petrochemical, power generation, and food processing, where durability, corrosion resistance, and reliability are crucial.
The AWS Class E347-16 electrodes are made from low-carbon, niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel, primarily consisting of iron, chromium (18–20%), nickel (9–11%), and niobium (columbium), along with small amounts of manganese and silicon. The niobium stabilization helps prevent chromium carbide precipitation, which boosts resistance to intergranular corrosion at high temperatures. In terms of mechanical properties, these electrodes yield weld metal with a tensile strength of about 75 ksi (515 MPa) and an elongation of around 35%, offering excellent ductility and toughness. The fully austenitic weld deposits significantly reduce the risk of cracking during both welding and service in challenging environments.

These electrodes offer exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly against intergranular corrosion. Typically available in diameters of 1/16″ to 1/8″ (1.6 mm to 3.2 mm), they provide a lighter coating, facilitating easier welding with smooth, clean welds and minimal spatter.
Known for high corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments, these electrodes come in diameters of 1/8″ to 5/32″ (3.2 mm to 4.0 mm). The heavy coating enhances arc stability and provides a thicker slag layer, offering better protection and ease of removal for cleaner welds.
These electrodes deliver superior corrosion resistance and are ideal for high-temperature applications. Typically available in diameters of 3/32″ to 1/8″ (2.4 mm to 3.2 mm), they are designed for shielded arc welding, ensuring stable arcs and good weld integrity in challenging conditions.
