SS 304 / 304L Sheets and Plates contain approximately 18–20% chromium and 8–10.5% nickel, offering strong resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Grade 304L has a lower carbon content, which enhances weldability and reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion. These grades typically exhibit tensile strength of around 515–720 MPa and yield strength of approximately 205–310 MPa. They provide excellent toughness, good ductility, and ease of fabrication. Their balanced mechanical properties ensure reliable performance under mechanical stress and moderate temperature conditions.
